The STAR Research Collaborative Department of Psychology at Eastern Michigan University is interested in conducting research with caregivers and individuals in our 22q community. This study is looking to understand the experiences of children with genetic conditions and their parents or caregivers in order to improve care in the future.

Their goal is to use what they learn to help healthcare providers better understand the impact of stressful or traumatic experiences on the relationships between families and medical teams. This will help inform the development of care approaches that are more supportive, family-centered, and trauma-informed.

Study Details for Families:

Participation includes completing a 30-minute survey. At the end of the survey, families will be given the option to take part in a one-time, 1-hour interview to share their experiences in more detail. All information will be kept confidential.

Participants who complete the survey will be entered into a raffle to win 1 of 6 $100 Amazon gift cards. Those who complete the optional interview will receive a $50 virtual Amazon gift card for their time.
