Free Expert Advice and Educational Consulting 

Private consulting services are now provided for school-aged children diagnosed with 22q11.2 deletion syndrome, as well as 22q11.2 duplication syndrome.  Education Station is a program that was created to help parents and educators better meet the learning needs of these unique students.  Children and young adults with 22q differences often have very complicated learning profiles and most need carefully crafted educational programs to be successful.  Education Station is designed to foster a collaborative working relationship between families and schools to provide a framework by which informed educational decisions can be made that are supported by scientific research in the area of these students.

Services May Include One or More of the Following Resources:

  • Brief intake call to understand your child or student’s current educational needs
  • Parent/Teacher Coaching Call/Calls (How to speak the same language as education professionals)
  • Review of existing IEPs
  • Recommendations for IEP modifications (based on scientific research in the area of students with this 22q
  • Recommendation of educational tests for students
  • Assistance with programming and approaches to learning
  • Reviewing of the appropriateness of student placement options
  • Student Recommendation Report (SRR) Condensed report for your child/student’s teacher/IEP team, based on your child and 22q specific needs
  • Advocate attendance (via zoom/conference call) at your child’s IEP meeting
  • Goal setting and measuring student progress
  • Transition planning to assist with independent living

The more information you provide will make it possible to best utilize the limited time that will be available for each family and will help us to ensure we can impact as many families as possible.

Our goal is to provide services and support to all 22q families, regardless of their ability to pay. Please consider donating back to the 22q Family Foundation so we can provide quality services and sustain our organization. The sliding scale below describes suggested donations based on gross household income for the typical amount of individualized, targeted consulting time, which is discounted at a minimum of 40%. This is based on a typical, hourly rate of $175/hour, with each student receiving five hours on average ($875 value).

The suggested donation is calculated based on approximately five consulting hours per child diagnosed with 22q.  These hours may include, but are not limited to the following possibilities: parent/guardian phone interviews to understand your child’s current educational needs, advocacy coaching call(s), compilation of a condensed report based on 22q specific needs for your child’s teachers /IEP team, attendance at your child’s IEP meeting via video call, and assistance with transitioning to adulthood.

Education Station is funded through the generous donations we receive.  It is offered through a collaboration with Cutler-Landsman Consulting LLC and 22q Family.  Services will be offered on a first come first served and severity of needs basis.  We do have a great deal of interest in these services and you may experience wait times.
